"When the going gets tough, the tough get going"!
~Joseph P. Kennedy (deep Hollywood male voice)
Well... not always. We can all agree on that, right?

Initially, we're expected to power on when things get tough. We're told not to let difficult situations defeat us.
And honestly, that's good advice, I must say.
Nobody wants to be told to stop crying or to simply "get over it, it's part of life."
But here's the truth: blocking out negativity is easier said than done. Situations vary, and some can affect us more deeply than we're equipped to handle at that moment.
In those cases, it's important to allow yourself to have a good cry if needed. But then, how do you keep going when life gets tough? Here's my approach...
#1: Remember your why
#2: Surround yourself with a good support system
#3: Pray
#1: Remember your why
Reminding yourself of why you started in the first place can give you the strength to persevere. It provides a sense of purpose and the determination to see that purpose fulfilled.
By doing so, you reassure yourself that there's a genuine reason to keep going, one that holds more significance than just proving your situation wrong. As Friedrich Nietzsche once said, "He who has a why to live for can bear almost anyhow."
#2: Surround yourself with a good support system
Having a reliable support system, be it, family or friends, can be incredibly beneficial. They can provide reassurance of your capabilities, offer a good laugh, or bring you momentary peace (whatever floats your boat).
Alternatively, spending time alone to reflect and strategize can also bring you peace.
#3: Pray
For me, this is the most important way to find peace and gain strength.
Philippians 4:6-7 [6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.]
By applying these strategies, or at least one of them, I hope you'll find the strength to keep moving forward. As long as you're alive, nothing is ever worth losing hope for, even on days when life makes it seem so. Just keep going!
Thank you for joining Unspoken Gist. I hope yours will be a frequent visit!
